StudyEdge
Secondary Study Skills Course
Is your child having a successful year at school?
Does your secondary school age child (13-18) have the independent study
skills to stay on top of homework, assignments, projects, revision and
preparing for assessments, tests and exams?
Is your child mastering the material in all subjects, managing independent
study time well and working enthusiastically, consistently and
confidently to achieve personal academic and career
goals?
Has your child been taught the study
techniques used by highly successful students? For example
reading using SQ3R, applying a step-by-step process for written work,
staged index card revision, note taking, memorising with acronyms and
acrostics, exam techniques and simple but powerful techniques for
managing personal time and energy.
StudyEdge
Secondary is an e-learning course that begins with a
dynamic and inspiring half-day seminar, held in a university or
corporate training setting. The StudyEdge course
introduces secondary school students (13-18 years) to the study
techniques used by top performing students. It teaches independent
study skills and inspires positive attitudes that can transform academic
performance.
The introductory seminar is presented by Dr Bruce Johnstone, a UK-based university academic who created the
StudyEdge course. He introduces
students to the StudyEdge Virtual Learning
Environment (VLE) containing a series of animated audio visual
presentations and a wealth of supporting material, presented like a

StudyEdge Secondary
